FISHING LAKE METIS SETTLEMENT -

NEW ADMINISTRATION BUILDING

JMAA architecture competed the design and construction administration for a new administration building for the Fishing Lake Metis Settlement.  The design embraces many natural materials and textures and has wood beam details which are highlighted both on the exterior and interior.  The new administration building includes a council chambers, reception area, meeting rooms, offices and a training room.  The new Administration combines many community functions under one roof and overlooks the lake.  The whole building creates an open airy feeling work environment for the staff and visitors.  A 35 KW AC solar array is installed on the roof.  This produces an average energy output of 37,000 KWH per year.  There are 122 panels and this part of the project was a result of 100% government funding.
