DICKSON CHURCH

The Dickson Church is set into a mixed forest setting which helped dictate the material choices on the exterior of the building.  Simple textures are used to compliment the local environment.  The restricted palette of materials and finishes preserve the wilderness appearance.

A sawtooth roof construction allows for natural indirect light to flow into the interior spaces.  The approach to the building is off axis with the dominate feature upon approach being a simple wooden cross.  The church represents an earthly and personal approach to worship, embracing the gift of nature and life that consumes a person when on site.

The Queen of Denmark took plans of this church back to Denmark and has completed construction of the same design in Denmark.
