This new lodge will provide affordable housing options for the seniors of Wabasca and surrounding areas.  This lodge is a two storey building with bariatric, dementia, and standard suites.  The lodge includes many amenity spaces such as activity rooms, sun rooms, lounges and a large dining room.  Incorporating First Nations culturally significant items into this design was very important.  As such the building orientation was carefully coordinated with rising sun in the east.  The lodges design also incorporates many outdoor spaces including a large Tipi gathering space in the garden courtyard.  We also coordinated with a local Indigenous artist to help position large art installations on the exterior of the building.  All of these culturally significant items are very important in the overall finished design of this facility.
