Sunchild is a school built for the native peoples of the Sunchild First Nation.  The opportunity to build for such a unique culture in a unique setting provided a very exciting challenge.  The school was built to respond to the environment.  It is simple and hard, characteristics that reflect a harsh land.  It stands strong against the opposition of the surrounding forces of nature.

The school offers a place to meet, a place to take refuge on many levels. The people are proud and strong and wished to have a school that expressed them in function as well as in legacy.  Sunchild is a powerful and bold statement onto the community and the land.
