This project was the demolition of the ageing 'U' shaped lodge section that was currently part of Hillcrest lodge and replace it with a new 3 Storey Lodge.  Part of the existing Hillcrest lodge was to be maintained which meant this project required carful phasing to allow for residents in these areas to have minimal interruptions in their daily lives during construction.  The new expansion was designed to coordinate with the existing design to create a cohesive building.  The new lodge expansion includes a commercial kitchen, dining and lounge areas, activity spaces and studio and one-bedroom suites.  This facility will help meet Barrhead and surrounding areas growing need for affordable accommodations for its senior population.
